I tend to stock up on tinctures when they go on sale. I have always wondered if they have a shelf life expiration and if they will be just as potent when I use them months later.
@charleen Great question! The typical shelf life for an alcohol based tincture is around 3-5 years or even up to 10 years if stored correctly. Proper storage is in a cool, dark place. Make sure the lid is secure! They will keep their potency as long as the color remains about the same as when you bought it. Use code heal5 for 5% off your next purchase!

I have a question regarding Ashwagandha Tincture and Serum. I read recently that one should take a break from using ashwagandha every few weeks. Is that something that should be done with your tinctures and serums? if so, do you have a recommended time frame to use and take a break?
@charleen Aloha Charleen - That's a great question. With Ashwagandha tincture it is advised to take a break to allow your body to integrate the herbs and also so it doesn't build up a tolerance to it. I have taken 5-10 drops everyday and used up the bottle in about a month. Then I take a break until I feel like I need it again. Usually about 2-3 months later. That is what works for me, but everyone is different and so it's best to listen to your own body.
Here is a good protocol to follow when choosing how long to take Ashwagandha tincture.
The Serum you can use everyday. It is topical and so the absorption will be minimal enough that it is safe to use consistently. I do like to take a break and use other serums though so I can nourish my skin with different herbs. Tulsi Serum is my favorite.
I hope this helps!
@Sonya of Kauai Farmacy Hello,
could you tell what the shelf life is of the cleanse powder and the teas?
thank you!
@Cris Great Question!
Typical shelf life for our cut and sifted teas are around 1-2 yrs. Be sure to store in a cool, dark place and when checking for potency if it still has good color and a good smell, it's good to go! For our superfood powders the shelf life is shorter, about 6-12 months. Same storage and testing methods apply. Be well.
Hi Kauai Farmacy, I love your products! Everytime I think that I can ween myself off of ordering from you guys, mostly for financial reasons, I always choose to return to you. I am constantly reaching for either Tea Tree or Noni Hydrosol and recently the serums, either Soothe or Cacao Ashwaganda. And now, I have added Turmeric Powder into my daily routine, which ya'll offered free for ordering a while back; I can't do my day without it. I am so hooked and love you guys. I can't wait to visit one day.
I do have a question: what would you recommend for the skin, specifically the arm? I get this tingling, irritation and itchiness. The Noni Hydrosol did seem to relieve it. I also applied the Soothe Serum. I am wondering if you have a better recommendation? As an aside, I live in Maryland, so dealing with winter now. This may be cold related, but also some stress. Anyway! I love you guys! Thank you all so much for everything you do. Peace & Love, Dana 🌺💕
Mahalo, Kauai Farmacy! First, I would like to say that I love ALLL of your products, and thank you for creating this forum. My question is, When will the Ashwagandah ticture be available again? Thank you in advanve for answering my question.
I want to ensure that I get all the vitamins and minerals I need to stay healthy. Can you recommend what products to try?
@Rayshawn We just put the Ashwagandha tincture back in stock yesterday! Enjoy!
@Dana Great question! Is the tingling on the outside? Like on the epidermis of your skin? Or is it more of a nerve issue? Either way, I have recommendations for both. Healing Beauty Balm is a popular product containing Calendula which has an affinity for treating rashes and quirky skin conditions. Lilikoi Flower TIncture is a great ally for nervous itch stemming from anxiety or stress. Hope this helps!
@Faye Hey there! Tea's are a great way to get minerals into your body. The warm water helps the vitamins be absorbed more efficiently into the bloodstream. Our Vitalitea blend is one of my favorites for full body nourishment. Moringa powder is also a great herbal accompaniment to any meal and provides the body with essential minerals such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, and phosphorus. It's also a great source of plant protein. Our Longevity capsules are also an easy way to supplement your diet with pure plant power helping to target inflammation, mood, digestion, and energy. Thank you. I have high cholesterol, are there any products you can recommend to help me lower my LDL?
@Sonya of Kauai Farmacy yes, outside, but I do think it is stress related. I may have some Beauty Balm left. I will try. Thank you! 💕🌸
@Faye Turmeric and Ginger are among some of the recommended herbs for helping to lower LDL levels. You'll find them in most of our teas. Wellness is one I recommend because of the added benefit of Tulsi and Noni Leaf. Both work to keep your system humming. We also have Turmeric and Ginger Capsules that are an easy way to supplement those herbs. Enjoy code 5% with code HEAL5.
Hope this helps!
I currently take Vitali tea and cleanse powder. I plan on purchasing moringa powder, longevity capsules and wellness tea. I want to make sure that I don't overdo with what I'm taking so could you please advise how I should proceed. I noticed that the cleanse powder has moringa in it and I plan to purchase the moringa powder but I want to make sure not to overdo it with these herbs and others that I'm purchasing. Please advise.
@Faye Aloha - Great question. It's hard to overdue herbs that are food based herbs. Moringa is an herb that is eaten daily in certain cultures for health and longevity so I wouldn't worry about overdoing it. If anything pay attention to your digestion and if things start to seem abnormally loose or frequent then perhaps pull back a bit on the frequency and amount you are taking.
Hope this helps!
