Ashwagandha is a fortifying adaptogen, suited to replenish chi (energy) and increase the body’s overall resistance to stress. It focuses on the adrenals and nervous system, which contributes to balanced hormonal functioning, calm nerves and graceful navigating of transition. In addition, Ashwagandha has an affinity for the reproductive organs. As the highest concentration of medicinal constituents is found in the root of Ashwagandha, its fortification and strengthening properties are applied to our root chakra (center). In Ayurveda, it is said to give someone the stamina of a stallion, and is esteemed for endurance and longevity. While Ashwagandha supports our hormonal, nervous and reproductive systems for optimal vigor and vitality, it is soothing in nature and helps keep us grounded in daily life.
