Ashwagandha

DESCRIPTION

Ashwagandha, Withania somnifera This native Indian plant, also known as “Indian ginseng”, is commonly used in Ayurvedic medicine and is named after its ability to give one "the stamina of a stallion". Ashwagandha is a fortifying adaptogen, suited to replenish chi and increase the body’s overall resistance to stress. It focuses on the adrenals and nervous system, which contributes to balanced hormonal functioning, calm nerves and graceful navigating of transition. In addition, Ashwagandha has an affinity for the reproductive organs. As the highest concentration of medicinal constituents is found in the root of Ashwaganda, its fortification and strengthening properties are applied to our root chakra. While Ashwagandha supports our hormonal, nervous and reproductive systems for optimal vigor and vitality, it is soothing in nature and helps keep us grounded in daily life. Studies have shown that ashwagandha inhibits the growth of breast, lung, colon, and central nervous system cancers.
