DESCRIPTION
Kauai Vervain,
Stachytarpheta sp. Found growing wild all over the island of Kauai, Vervain, aka blue porterweed has been used by local Hawaiians for centuries. A calming nervine, specifically indicated for "type A" individuals, Vervain helps allay nervousness and anxiety. It can be used internally to combat colds, flu, and cough, and externally for bruises, sprains and damp stagnation. As a digestive bitter, Vervain aids in stimulating digestion and supporting the liver. As it calms the nerves and gently aids recovery from illness, Vervain is great for children and adults alike.
