DESCRIPTION
Loquat,
Eriobotrya japonica Loquat is a large evergreen shrub or small fruit tree. It has a rounded crown and short trunk. Native to China it commercially grown for the yellow fruit and also as an ornamental. It is also known as Japanese plum or Chinese plum. Specifically useful in cases of respiratory imbalance, Loquat leaf helps break up mucus and soothe the respiratory system. It can be helpful in rebuilding the cilia in our lungs after a long bout of painful coughing. Loquat leaf also contains beneficial triterpenes that promote blood sugar balancing and help reduce diabetes. In addition, Loquat's doctrine of signatures points towards its beneficial action on irritated skin and histamine reactions. The leaf itself is fuzzy, almost rough in nature, just as our skin appears when irritated. Special compounds in Loquat leaf help to relieve the very symptom it appears to exemplify, soothing irritated, red skin rashes, especially due to a histamine response.
