Soursop

DESCRIPTION

Soursop, Graviloa, Guanabana, Custard Apple, Annona muricata Soursop is a tropical tree, growing up to 20 feet tall, with waxy leaves and produces a large edible fruit. The fruit is tasty and high in fiber, vitamin C and other medicinal constituents, however the leaf is also nutrient rich with medicinal value. Soursop leaf is boasted for its ability to not only support overall health, but to help prevent and fight cancer. Recent studies have shown that Soursop contains acetogenins, a powerful group of antibiotics that act directly on cancer cells. Acetogenins work in a number of ways to combat cancer, including shutting down the energy production capacity of cancer cells. Soursop leaf also works with metabolism and digestion, helping with weight loss and balancing blood sugar. It increases circulation, thus reducing inflammation and provides essential nutrients for overall health. Being a tropical plant, Soursop is adapted to constant sun exposure and imparts both antioxidant and astringent qualities to help our skin repair, replenish and thrive after damaging exposure.
