Averrhoa carambola Star fruit is a star shaped tropical fruit native to Malayan peninsula and grown Southeast Asia, Pacific islands and China. Star fruit is a small, bushy evergreen tree that grows in the tropics. The plant has light purple colored, bell-shaped flowers in clusters which develop shaped fruits with five angled edges that appear like a star cut in cross sections. Our two Starfruit trees are the ancient gatekeepers to the main garden and supply not only an abundance of fruit for all who pass by, but also shade and a peaceful, protected ambiance for the crew to eat lunch within.
