Everything stems from Love

So much love goes into growing our plants from seedling, nurturing them into adolescence until they come of age for proper harvesting. This mega-Ashwagandha root was harvested this morning, rinsed, lopped and chopped and readied for its entry into our solar dehydrators in preparation for this upcoming Valentine’s Day. This healing herb will eventually make its way into our Kauai Farmacy Love Potion tea, Endurance Powder and our Green Energy Powder.

Ashwagandha

is nicknamed the “Ginseng” of Ayurvedic medicine, although it is more closely related botanically to a tomato plant than Chinese Ginseng, however, it shares many similar attributes to the Chinese Ginseng root. Its historic Sanskrit name, “having the vigor of a Stallion” certainly bears mentioning, as Ashwagandha serves to create lasting stamina and endurance in one’s being. It is this energy, or better said, “calm-energy” that makes this herb a stand-alone endurance and performance extraordinaire. This healing herb, has the ability to reduce fatigue and at the same time address insomnia by its uncanny ability to create calm-energy. When the body is calm, there are no highs and lows – just equilibrium. The Ashwagandha works to calm the nervous system, and dissipate both external stresses (ie: environmental toxins) as well as internal stresses (lack of rest, anxiety, poor nutrition). Also known for balancing the endocrine system, tonifying the heart and lungs and boosting libido in both men and women, it is no wonder to us, that our Love Potion tea, with Ashwagandha serving as its active ingredient, is our best seller. Ashwagandha is a rejuvenating adaptogenic herb that has heating qualities. It has been mentioned in modern studies to improve concentration levels and long before these studies, has a reputation for bringing about mental clarity – I believe this is due to its ability to regulate and modulate hormone secretions in one’s body, helping create ultimate balance. Well-known as an immune-system restorative, this herb has been helpful for individuals living with HIV and AIDs. Ashwagandha, has indicated uses for infertility, impotency, multiple schlerosis, and rejuvenating both the reproductive organs of men and women (especially in men). This harvest was especially gratifying, for a little goes a long way and this root along with 2 other roots harvested this morning will provide its healing attributes to our Love Potion tea. The Ashwagandha is accompanied by Cinnamon, Allspice, Turmeric, Yellow Ginger, Galangal Ginger, Stevia, Lemongrass and Cacao, all cured raw in our solar dehydrators. With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, there will be plenty of Love to go-around.
