In this episode of Fridays on the Farm we go on an "oral hygiene nature hike" exploring plants in our gardens that have specific uses in the care of the mouth. Along with our skin, our mouths are the first layer of interface between our bodies and the world around us, making it an primary area for immune function. In addition to being a first line of defense, our mouths are also an indicator of the state of our overall health. We visit the oral care classic Mint, the not-often-seen fresh Stevia, raw Sugarcane (Yes Sugarcane!), and the "electric daisy," Spilanthes. The keiki enjoy some "Buzzchew Goo" made from our Buzz Chew powder and our herbal honeys.
