Fig, Ficus carica

Fig is a shrub or a tree that can grow between 10-30 feet tall. Figs are indigenous to Western Asia and are now well known mostly in the Mediterranean with over 600 varieties. The fig has numerous spreading branches and a trunk usually at most about 7 inches in diameter.

A peculiar plant with voluptuous fruits, Fig is known as a rich, nourishing and aphrodisiacal food. Aside from its delicious taste, the fruit and leaves of the plant contain medicinal properties that can help treat diabetes, respiratory issues and infertility.
